Sweetgreen Ingredient Boards
I recently had the pleasure of update the ingredient list at all five locations of Sweetgreen in Austin. It is always appreciated when random patrons look at your work as you are almost done and say, “that looks good.” It’s only an ingredient list but knowing that clients of Sweetgreen actually like what they are seeing is something that let’s you know you like what you are doing.
The first board always takes the longest since that is the one you have to measure out before all the rest. The beauty of using painters tape is that you can just roll up with all the markings you used to measure out how big the letters need to be. Then when you get to the next board, you just unroll the same tape and voilà you have all your measurements. This works great for wedding seating charts as well.
It’s also good to note that not all chalk markers are made the same. I find Sharpie water based white chalk marker has the longer lasting tips over other brands. This ends up being important as you don’t want the tip to lose it’s firmness over time or else your letters don’t come out looking as crisp.
