Heartfelt Commission

Over the holidays I was fortunate enough to be commissioned for what had to be one of the most fulfilling works I’ve done to-date. A gentleman wanted to gift his wife something special that would lift her spirits whenever she was going through a tough time or lift them up higher when things were going great.

Without his wife knowing, he collected the things her family and friends thought of her. When we spoke about what the project looked like he already knew what he wanted. Which is great! He wanted all the collected saying to be written in the shape of a heart and in calligraphy, Uncial script. If you are unfamiliar with Uncial, you can think of what is commonly associated with the Celtic style of writing.

I think the purpose of what the work was intended to do is why I felt really good about the final result. The whole time I was working on it, I was excited because of how this artwork would bolster their marriage. I genuinely feel honored to do this work for a living.
